Our center focuses on two main research areas: asthma and respiratory/pulmonary fibrosis, and air pollution and chronic lung disease. We are committed to promoting intelligent translational medicine research, encompassing diverse aspects such as basic research, new drug and medical device development, smart healthcare, and derivative innovation. Our center extends from translational medicine research to the cultivation of medical talent, and through international collaboration, we strengthen our international competitiveness in the field of thoracic medicine.

Our center fully utilizes the Taipei Medical University Biomedical Accelerator platform, integrating the university's clinical trial centers and biotechnology translation and research capabilities to accelerate the development of emerging industries related to thoracic medicine, promote the commercialization and technology transfer of research results, and ultimately connect with the international industry-academia-research system. Since its establishment in 2018, we have actively integrated clinical and research capabilities, bringing together pulmonologists, respiratory therapists, and professionals from the Department of Respiratory Therapy to focus on the diagnosis, treatment, and research of thoracic diseases. With diseases at the core, we promote clinically based and patient-needs-oriented translational medicine research, hoping to continuously improve the overall quality of patient care through innovative therapies and precision medicine strategies. Through interdisciplinary collaboration and cooperation, the team fosters innovation and research breakthroughs. Simultaneously, we actively invite domestic and international experts and scholars to participate in research projects to broaden our international perspectives and deepen cross-border cooperation.

The center regularly holds international conferences annually to present the findings of its research teams and facilitate exchanges with top research teams worldwide, thereby enhancing its international visibility and influence. Currently, it has established key collaborative relationships with five leading international universities, including Imperial College London, and has recruited numerous internationally renowned experts and scholars to join its team, continuously promoting forward-looking developments in the field of thoracic medicine.
